Alena joined the Omaha Community Playhouse staff in 2007 when she and her husband Nick moved to Omaha so he could attend medical school at Creighton University. Alena received her BA degree in Communications and Theatre from Central College in Pella, Iowa. After working with a West Des Moines Marketing and Communications Firm, Alena spent four years with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cedar Rapids and East Central Iowa, most recently as their Development Director, Fundraising and Operations.
Alena is responsible for coordinating all fundraising efforts for the Omaha Community Playhouse and the Omaha Community Playhouse Foundation. The Omaha Community Playhouse must raise approximately 25% of its funds each year from contributions (around $1,000,000).
