Twenty-five years after September 11, 2001, Heartland Honors 9/11 invites the Omaha metro to come together in remembrance, reflection, and gratitude. This volunteer-led community wide campaign recognizes the 25th anniversary of 9/11 by honoring the first responders, service members, medical professionals, and volunteers who answered the call in a time of crisis – and those who continue to serve our communities with courage and compassion every day.
From September 1–11, the community across the Omaha metro is encouraged to participate in meaningful acts of service, remembrance, and appreciation. Whether you attend a community event, volunteer your time, thank a first responder, or perform a simple act of kindness, every gesture helps strengthen the spirit of unity that defines our community. Together, we can honor the legacy of 9/11 by remembering, serving, and expressing our gratitude to those who dedicate themselves to helping others.
