Venue and Spaces

Yes, beverage service is available in the Owen Lobby 45 minutes prior to each performance and during intermission. A secondary bar may be available in the Scott Lobby for select productions in the Hawks Mainstage Theatre. Credit and debit cards are accepted. Intermission orders may be placed and purchased before the performance for your convenience.

Our theatre and Box Office is open one hour prior to the posted curtain time for each production. Box Office hours outside of performances are:

Both the Howard & Rhonda Hawks Mainstage and Howard Drew theatres are wheelchair accessible. Please contact the OCP Box Office to arrange wheelchair seating accommodations at least 24 hours in advance of the desired performance.

Each theatre is equipped with an infrared sound system for patrons who are hard of hearing. Headsets are available for no charge at the OCP Box Office. Patrons with a T-Coil engaged also may check out a device that will enhance sound during a performance.

Sensory kits are also available for no charge at the OCP Box Office. A quiet zone is available outside the Howard & Rhonda Hawks Mainstage Theatre in the Scott Lobby to take a break from overstimulating experiences.

To request additional accommodations, (such as physical needs, supports for neurodivergent individuals or other concerns), please contact the OCP Box Office.

Dates, details and a calendar of upcoming ASL-interpreted, audio described and sensory-friendly performances are included with information about each production.

Yes, all productions have assigned seating. To make a specific request, contact our Box Office.

Seats are guaranteed only until the posted curtain time. Patrons who arrive late will be seated at the discretion of the OCP House Manager. Latecomers may not be seated in their assigned seats until intermission.

We include content advisories, if applicable, with information about each production. Children under three are not permitted to any performance, with the exception of our youth productions through the Shirlee & Henry Fonda Theatre Academy. All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Lap seats are not allowed.

Our lobby opens one hour prior to each performance. Bar service is available at that time. The house opens 30 minutes prior to curtain.

Ticketing

Yes, you can purchase your tickets and select your exact seat online through Ticket Omaha, the official online ticket retailer for the Omaha Community Playhouse. Ticket Omaha is the official and only authorized online ticket retailer for the Omaha Community Playhouse. Ticket prices reflected on Ticket Omaha include online ticketing fees.

Please note, non-affiliated online ticket brokers may inflate ticket prices dramatically. Some brokers may claim to have tickets available for sale, when they do not. OCP tickets purchased from online retailers other than Ticket Omaha cannot be refunded, exchanged or price matched.

Mobile delivery tickets are available at Wallet.TicketOmaha.com. Tickets purchased with mobile delivery will utilize the True Tickets platform instead of physical tickets with a
rolling QR code.

Yes, discounted pricing is available for groups of 12 or more. Contact the Associate Box Office Manager at (402) 661-8528 to reserve tickets to performances with available seating.

Student pricing is also available for performances. Contact the OCP Box Office for student pricing.

OCP offers $7 tickets (Student 7) to students through Undergrad for the opening weekend of each production. Pricing is available for purchases at the OCP Box Office by phone or in person. The Student 7 pricing is not available online. Students must present a student ID when purchasing.

Yes, you can reserve your tickets and select your exact seat online through Ticket Omaha, the official online ticket retailer for the Omaha Community Playhouse. Ticket Omaha is the official and only authorized online ticket retailer for the Omaha Community Playhouse. Ticket prices reflected on Ticket Omaha include online ticketing fees.

Tickets purchased by calling the OCP Box Office or purchasing in person at the OCP Box Office are not subject to online purchase fees. This is your avenue to avoid extra fees.

If you cannot use your tickets for a production, please give them to someone who can, or return them to OCP at least 24 hours prior to the performance for a tax-deductible contribution. There are no refunds on unused tickets or any unused portion of season subscriptions.

Ticket exchanges are available for a small fee (no fee to Subscribers). Contact the OCP Box Office at least 24 hours prior to your original ticket date, and we will be happy to exchange your tickets to another date within the same production. Ticket exchanges on the same day as the reserved performance are not allowed.

Yes! Theatre makes a great gift for friends, family, and colleagues. Please contact our Box Office at (402) 553-0800 to purchase a gift certificate.

All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket. Children under three years are not admitted to the theatre. Lap seats are not allowed in lieu of a ticket.

Performances

Our production season runs August through June. Performances are Wednesdays – Sundays in the Hawks Mainstage Theatre and Thursdays – Sundays in the Howard Drew Theatre.

Advisories related to content or elements such as sounds, strobe lighting, etc. are noted with performance information for the respective production. Visit our Productions section and select the respective play or musical, where any advisories or warnings will be listed.

Parking

Yes, complimentary parking is available in the Storz Parking Plaza located on the south side of our building. Accessible parking spaces are located near the south entrance and northeast canopy entrance. While there is plenty of parking in the parking plaza, we recommend audiences arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of the performance. Overflow parking is available across Cass Street at First United Methodist Church.

Accessibility

We offer a variety of accommodations, such as ASL interpretation, audio description, and an infrared sound system. Learn more about Accessibility accommodations.

The Omaha Community Playhouse welcomes all to our theatre and our spaces. We offer a variety of sensory programming and accommodations.

The VROOM! Mobile Sensory Theatre is a traveling theatre experience designed for neurodivergent audiences and audiences with disabilities. VROOM! provides a safe and personalized experience by bringing the performance directly to homes, schools, direct service organizations, and more. Performances are immersive, interactive, and intimate, serving just one to two audience members and up to two caregivers at a time.

Sensory guides are available for each production. A social narrative is also available.

Relaxed performances, offered on select dates, are inclusive theatrical experiences designed to be welcoming to individuals with neurodiverse needs and those attending with them, providing an opportunity to participate in live theatre. Learn more about Relaxed performances.

Education

Classes at OCP are offered for elementary ages through adults. From acting and improv to musical theatre, technical theatre, and design, there’s something for everyone at OCP. The Omaha Community Playhouse utilizes a secure portal, CampSite, for class registration. Before registering for a class, you’ll need to create an account within CampSite. Take a look at our classes offered on our website then login to your Campsite account to register. We look forward to seeing you at OCP!

Tours

Absolutely. We frequently host groups of all sizes, including bus tours. Discounted group tickets are offered for all productions with the purchase of 12 or more seats. Contact the Associate Box Office Manager at (402) 661-8528 to reserve tickets to performances for your group.

Volunteerism

There are numerous volunteer opportunities available at OCP. If you want to work backstage, in the costume shop, front of house (ushers, greeters, Box Office) or the administration offices, visit OmahaPlayhouse.com/Get-Involved to submit an application. Acting auditions are open to the public and are listed on our website.
