Mark Haufle, Brandon Fisher, Tabor Cross, and Josh Peyton bring energy, passion, and fresh perspectives to the stage, keeping the spirit of A Christmas Carol alive for today’s audiences. Each performer contributes in unique ways, adding layers of humor, heart, and vitality to one of Omaha’s most beloved holiday traditions.

Mark Haufle first joined the cast in 2017 as part of the ensemble, quickly making his mark on the production with his charm and dedication. In 2018, he stepped into the role of Mr. Fezziwig, and over the next several years, he alternated between Fezziwig and other roles, including Baker and, more recently, Christmas Present and the Toy Shopkeeper in the 50th anniversary production. For Mark, the most memorable moments often come in the playful details, such as when performing Fezziwig’s pantomimed speech; he would mouth lyrics from musicals for the cast to guess, adding a layer of laughter and camaraderie unique to this production. Beyond the stage, Mark treasures the familial atmosphere of the cast, describing it as unlike any other show he has been a part of.

Brandon Fisher has been involved with A Christmas Carol in a variety of roles since 2017, ranging from Topper to Young Scrooge, Fred, Charity Man, and Beggar, as well as assisting with choreography and working on crew duties. Each role has brought him closer to the production’s sense of community. Brandon reflects fondly on the strong bonds he’s formed over the years, from performing Dancing Day alongside Sarah Schrader to engaging in the playful improvisation that comes with interacting with fellow cast members and even the stage props, like “Polina,” the lamppost. His experience highlights how A Christmas Carol is not just a show but a living, breathing holiday family where each performance brings laughter, warmth, and connection.

Tabor Cross has been portraying Fred since 2022, embracing the role’s humor, kindness, and energy. Tabor’s time with the show is defined not just by the performance itself but by the relationships formed along the way. For him, the holiday season on stage is a special time to spend with friends, sharing in the joy and appreciation that the show fosters. His performances carry that sense of connection to the audience and cast alike, reminding everyone that the true magic of A Christmas Carol extends far beyond the script.

Josh Peyton has performed in six seasons of A Christmas Carol, beginning with Jerry Longe’s first year as Scrooge in 2006. Over the years, he has played a variety of roles, from Dick Wilkins to Fred, and in the COVID-impacted 2020 “A Tiny Christmas Carol,” he portrayed Bob Cratchit, Jacob Marley, Mrs. Fezziwig, and several other characters. Josh cherishes his time working with Jerry Longe, calling him a mentor and friend, and he fondly recalls the creative challenges of performing in the small, eight-person cast during the pandemic. That experience, though brief in its performance run, was a unique and joyful experiment in storytelling that further deepened his connection to the production.
