Overview

A family, a matriarch, and the messy business of letting go.

Dotty’s in charge of the family, but the family’s about to turn her world upside down. Set in a Philadelphia neighborhood, a matriarch’s sharp wit and unwavering love are tested by the challenges of aging, Alzheimer’s, family secrets, and the fight to hold on to what matters most.

In this vibrant, poignant play, laced with humor and candor, Dotty’s family must confront their past, their own identities, and the fragility of the present. Dot is a celebration of family, resilience, and the complexities of love – reminding us that even in the hardest moments, the ties that bind are the ones that hold us together.

Playwright Colman Domingo shines a light on the ways we care for each other and the unbreakable bonds that define us.
