Accessibility

The Omaha Community Playhouse believes that the theatre is a place for everyone. We are dedicated to creating opportunities for all members of our community to experience live theatre. Below is a list of the accessibility services we currently offer.

OCP is constantly working to grow and improve our accessibility offerings. To read about what we’re currently working on, please visit our Inclusion page. If there is something that you would like to see implemented at OCP, please let us know! We welcome any feedback that may help us gain a better understanding of the needs of our community, including both positive and negative experiences at all levels of our organization.

Website Accessibility Adjustments

The OCP website offers a variety of accessibility adjustments through accessiBe’s built-in accessibility software. To access these feature, please click the blue human-shaped icon in the bottom corner of your screen. In addition to a variety of content, color and orientation adjustments, users can also access a number of accessibility profiles, including:

  • Seizure Safe Profile – Eliminates flashes and reduces color.
  • Vision Impaired Profile – Enhances the website’s visuals.
  • Cognitive Display Profile – Assists with reading and focusing.
  • ADHD Friendly Profile – More focus and fewer distractions.
  • Blind Users (Screen-reader) – Use the website with your screen reader.
  • Keyboard Navigation (Motor) – Use the website with the keyboard.

Relaxed Performances

What is a Relaxed Performance?
A Relaxed Performance is an inclusive theatrical experience designed to be welcoming to individuals with neurodiverse needs and those attending with them. Along with offering a few technical modifications and support materials, this supportive environment provides an opportunity to participate in live theatre in a comfortable setting. As the name suggests, these performances are less formal and more supportive of sensory, communication, movement, and learning needs. At no time will anyone be asked to leave the performance due to sound, movement, or behaviors related to differing cognitive/developmental abilities. This is a judgment-free environment.

The River Bride: Saturday, September 6, 2025
