The Omaha Community Playhouse is thrilled to introduce a brand-new series that gives theater enthusiasts an insider’s look at the magic behind the scenes.

Welcome to Stage & Story—a pre-show conversation series held alongside our productions during the 25/26 season.

Led by Artistic Director VJ Orduña and Associate Artistic Director Brandon Box-Higdem, this intimate and engaging addition will enhance your theater experience while creating a welcoming space for community connection.

Join us before select performances for a deep dive into the creative process, the inspiration behind the play or musical, and what it takes to bring a production from script to stage. VJ, Brandon, and other members of the artistic team will peel back the curtain, inviting you into the process, themes, and history behind the piece. It’s a fantastic opportunity to explore the art form from a fresh perspective in a casual, enriching environment.

Stage & Story is free of charge and open to everyone—whether or not you have tickets for the show. Grab a drink at the bar, pull up a chair, and enjoy the conversation!

When:  Select Thursdays (pre-show), 6:30 – 7:15 p.m.

Location:  OCP | Schmad Balcony | Second Level (accessible by stairs and elevator)

Beverages: Bar service will be available in the Owen Lobby starting at 6:15 p.m.
